Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Description:
The LPN will perform a variety of clinical support tasks to assist providers in treating private patients in a very busy Manhattan Pediatric office. Workload- Approximately 150 patients are seen per day in both locations. You will provide excellent care for patients and tend to their general comfort and well-being. Job duties include taking vital signs, changing bandages, administering medications, and monitoring the patient’s behavior for notable changes. Our ideal candidate has a compassionate attitude coupled with an impeccable bedside manner, as well as an ability to work in a fast-past environment.
Duties will include:
- Escort patients from waiting to exam room Obtain vital signs on patients (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, height/weight)
- Perform routine EKGs
- Provide phlebotomy services on patients from newborn through adolescent
- Label and prepare specimens for processing.
- Assist physicians in performing routine office procedures
- Administer injections/immunizations to patients based on physician’s orders-on patients from newborn through adolescent
- Proper documentation of all administered vaccines and all labs processed/results in patient encounter.
- Maintain log of patient immunizations
- Clean and prepare exam rooms for each patient encounter
- Collect, track, and maintain patient history; record any new data
- Administer medication; monitor medication doses and patient response
- Assist patients with personal hygiene
- Provide emotional support to patients and patients’ families; listen to concerns and feedback
- Report any unusual or drastic changes in patient behavior or symptoms; seek help when needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- Completed state-approved LPN education program
- Current LPN license to practice
- Valid CPR certification
- Previous clinical or healthcare experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite; adept at data entry
- Willing to work long, physically demanding hours
- Understanding of healthcare state standards and procedures
- High level of patience, empathy, and compassion
- Excellent observation skills with high attention to detail
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 required with proof of vaccination at time of employment.
- Ability to deal effectively with public and medical staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
- Flexible shifts including rotation of weekends and rotating Holidays.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English.
- Knowledge of EMR a must, eCW preferable

Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $29.00 – $35.00 per hour
